How to Make Room for More Storage in The Kitchen
If you remove the upper cabinets for visual design purposes, then you need to have a plan for storage. Where will you be putting all of your kitchen accessories? Here are some of my tips for finding more room in your kitchen for storage.
- Open Shelving – As mentioned before, open shelving is an easy technique for additional storage in the kitchen.
- Base & Lower Cabinets – Prioritize your base cabinets for essential kitchen supplies including pots, pans, and dishware. Add drawers and pull-out bins to make the kitchen more efficient.
- The Kitchen Island – The kitchen island isn’t just about a dramatic effect. It’s a great way to add storage including drawers and shelving to store serveware and other cooking essentials.
- Pantry – If you’re lucky enough to have a pantry, then clean out a shelf or two for kitchen items that would normally go in your upper cabinets. If you don’t have a pantry, then transform a closet or the corner of your kitchen into a place for additional storage. Wall-mounted Racks: Install wall-mounted racks to store your pots, pans, and utensils. You can also use them to store spices, oils, and other cooking essentials.
- Invest in a Table – There are so many affordable tables at Wayfair and Pottery Barn that can be excellent pieces for storage. Buffet tables can be used to store dishes, glassware, and other kitchen supplies while adding style and elegance to your kitchen.
